Rebecca & Jason

Rebecca & Jason's wedding took place in the small Maine town where her family has come to vacation for over 100 years! This special locale and farm-to-table style reception created such a warm and joyous ambiance. We love the beautiful way that Rebecca & Jason mixed their cultures with a traditional Jewish ceremony followed by a traditional Korean Paebaek ceremony to honor the blending of their families. She is such a beautiful bride in HB6633 paired with a simple lace veil and lush fall florals. Thank you so much to Katelyn Mallett for the incredible photos and congratulations to this amazing couple!!

Saja: How did you meet?

Rebecca: Jason and I met through my cousin (she married us too!).  She and Jason went to business school together at BU and moved to NYC once they’d graduated. He and I met several times before acknowledging our strong connection, but once we did, we were nearly inseparable.  That was about 4.5 years ago. Saja: How did he propose?

Rebecca: Jason and I were on vacation in India - at a fishing camp in the Himalayas.  On our last night at the camp, we were the only ones there to close out the season.  The staff found out that he was going to propose and got super involved!  They created a processional complete with marigold garlands (India tradition) and danced with him toward me where he proposed in the pitch black.  We were both wearing headlamps and sweats which was hysterical and also very much our speed!

Saja: What was your favorite part of the day?

Rebecca: My favorite part of our wedding day was our first look.  It was the first time Jason and I saw each other that day and on the coast, no less.  It was very powerful to have our closest family and friends there with us as well!

Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?

Rebecca: Our wedding was in the Ogunquit, Maine area at a farm-to-table restaurant called the Velveteen Habit.  We chose Ogunquit because my family has come to this town on summer vacation for over 100 years!  It is extremely special to my family and was a great way to introduce Jason’s family and our friends to this legacy.

Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed? 
 
Rebecca: It’s pretty obvious, but we also had a Korean Paebaek ceremony to honor Jason’s side.  It was so much fun and really beautiful! We also fell in love with our florist - Minka (Michelle Rose).  Finally, my belt was a custom design from Hushed Commotion (Thea Bloch-Neal, a good friend). They deserve mention too!

Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite?

Rebecca: My favorite photo is during our first dance (black & white).  Our song is ‘Sway’ by Rosemary Clooney, which really embodies us.  This picture captured the moment precisely!
