Saja: How did you meet?
Michelle: At the circus (online.)

Saja: How did he propose?
Michelle: In Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Big Sur, California on a mountain top park bench overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Had no idea he was going to ask but my family did!

Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?
Michelle: The Boathouse at Prospect Park Brooklyn in August (summer is my favorite season!) Brooklyn was one of my first loves, lived there for 14 years and also had our first date there. Matt is an original Brooklynite and was born there. Both parents and family are from there so it's a special place for us.

Saja: What was your favorite part of the day?
Michelle: Hearing Matt say his vows to me while a helicopter and police chase was happening in the background (with sirens going off.) Our special effects budget was big ;)

Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why?
Michelle: The one with us in front of a tunnel in the park with Muslim women walking in the background. It reminded me why we chose to get married in Brooklyn with all the diversity and cultures coming together. They actually watched our outdoor ceremony from afar and clapped when we kissed. We ran into them when we were done with taking pictures after the ceremony and congratulated us.

Saja: Is there anything to point out that we might have missed?
Michelle: Our friends, Nate Dorr and Maya Edelman made us ceremonial mask! Matt was a woof and I was a fish!
