Erin & Scott

Erin and Scott have a true New York love story. We are so excited to share these moments from their special day taken by one of absolute favorite photographers, Isabelle Selby. She along with her colleague Kelli did such an amazing job capturing the sheer romance between these two. Erin is stunning wearing LD6015, styled with a simple gold headpiece. Their quaint, modern affair took place at Brooklyn Winery in Williamsburg- the very same neighborhood that Erin's grandparents were married 65 years prior. Thank you to Isabelle, Kelli and the rest of these amazing vendors for creating such a special day for a truly special couple!
  Saja: How did you meet?

Erin: Scott and I met during our Junior year at Fordham University.

Saja: How did he propose?

Erin: Scott proposed on a Monday night in December.  I was off from work that day and was in my pajamas cooking dinner when Scott got home from work.  He had just picked up the ring that evening.  As we were sitting down to eat, Scott asked me to marry him; his proposal was private, personal and just right. 

Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?

Erin: The wedding took place at Brooklyn Winery in Brooklyn, NY.  New York City seemed like the easy choice for the location of our wedding: it is where we met, fell in love and started our life together.  Williamsburg in particular holds a special significance because it is the neighborhood that my grandmother grew up in and where she married my grandfather nearly 65 years ago. 

Brooklyn Winery was maybe the second, and last, venue we visited.  We wanted a venue that required the least amount of effort on our end to execute a beautiful, laid-back, fun and delicious wedding; it was immediately clear that Brooklyn Winery was the perfect fit.  The staff at Brooklyn Winery is extremely talented and professional - we could not have been happier with our experience from start to finish. 
  
Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why?

Erin: Isabelle and her colleague Kelli are incredibly talented and captured the evening perfectly - it is hard to pick just one photo.  I do love the picture captured during our vows when I am putting the ring on Scott's finger.  With all of the nerves and excitement of the event, in addition to not being totally familiar with the order of events during a wedding ceremony, I had to ask our officiant Alice if it was the right time to put the ring on his finger.  It lightened the mood, made us laugh and made something that could otherwise feel a little unnatural feel completely natural.  

Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? 

Erin: My favorite part of the day was probably the reception.  Neither Scott nor I are totally comfortable with being in the spotlight.  During the reception were able to relax and truly enjoy the company of our family and closest friends - the speeches made during dinner were heartfelt and funny, the food and drinks were excellent, and the band kept us dancing all night long.  I could not think of a more appropriate way to celebrate our union.
