Andrea & Patrick

Greetings from Germany on this rainy NYC afternoon! We are so excited to share Andrea & Patrick's fun and relaxed affair around Frankfurt- the city that they love so much! She makes such a beautiful bride in her AH6200 dress from Celia Dresses- thanks to the lovely Susannah. Special thanks as well to Till Schürmann for the photos; Funny enough, Till was the photographer at the wedding where Andrea and Patrick met!! Read on for the rest of their modern love story...

Saja: How did you meet?

Andrea:
We met at a wedding of a mutual friend. We had never met before even though both of us had been friends with Sebastian for long time. Patrick asked me with a big smile whether I liked to dance and from that moment I was hooked.

Saja: How did he propose?

Andrea: We were on holidays in Andalusia and while we were spending some days in Seville (on the day we had our first kiss) he proposed, but the time and location were not his choice. We were looking for a café to have breakfast and could not find the one we were looking for so I got nervous because I knew that he was getting hungry. We were standing at a corner in Seville with a church under construction on the right hand and a bus station in front of us with those public garbage cans they have in Spain (so the smell was not that great.) So while Patrick was searching on his map I wanted to have a look at google maps on my phone in his backpack. I opened the wrong compartment where he had hidden the Tiffany box. I wanted to close it and pretend that I had not found it, but when I looked up he just looked at me and said: “Well now you found it ….” and then he asked me to marry him.
Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?

Andrea:
We got married at the Epiphaniaskirche Church in Frankfurt close to where we live. We had ordered a double decker city tour bus to pick us up at the church and bring us to a farmers market called Friedberger Markt where we usually meet Friday after work to have drinks with friends. We had the reception at the wine stand there and after 2 hours the double decker bus picked the guests up for a little city tour with Patrick as the city tour guide and brought the guests to the venue at Schwedlersee in Frankfurt which is a bar at a lake close to the European Central bank. The lake is a part of the Main River which was separated from it in 1891 and was the first swimming club in Frankfurt and one of the oldest in Germany. As Patrick and I wanted a relaxed wedding party with all our friends and families at a place we love we choose the bar at the lake as this is one of our favorite places in Frankfurt.

Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Why?

Andrea: My favorite part of the day was when my Dad, Patrick and I gave our little speeches to each other and that it was a very relaxed and fun party.

Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why?

Andrea: My favorite is the one at the rail tracks where we stand hand in hand and in the church when we exchange the rings.

Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your photos that we may not have noticed?

Andrea: The pictures at the rack at the lake, the pictures on the rail tracks and the venue are the same location.
