Jessica & Bailey

We're heading into the weekend some lovely photos from our bride, Jessica's wedding. We spent quite a bit of time getting to know Jessica and some of her bridal party. She is breathtaking in LD6015 alongside her bridesmaids in some of Saja's shades of blue. Her Shelter Island wedding is sweet, warm and elegant- just like Jessica. Thanks so much to the Thompson Photography Group for sharing these photos and congratulations again to Jessica and Bailey, we wish you all the very best~

Saja: How did you meet?

Jessica:
We met at the American Museum of Natural History where we were both working at the time. He had just started as a post-doc in ornithology, studying evolution in birds, and I had just finished my Master’s and was interning in the same lab.
Saja: How did he propose?

Jessica: Bailey proposed in Shelter Island, NY, at this great nature preserve that I love. He tricked me though, because that very morning he had casually said he should probably start thinking about a ring, so I was very surprised when an hour later he was on one knee with one in his hand! I reacted awkwardly at first because I was so surprised!
Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?

Jessica:
We got married on Shelter Island. My parents live in Europe, where we are from, and my brothers and I live here, so our house on Shelter Island is where we reunite. We’ve been going there for years and it is a very special place for my family. Plus, it is a great place for seeing nature (birds!), and Bailey and I are big fans of nature.
Saja: What was your favorite part of the day?

Jessica:
Honestly, I loved it all. I loved getting ready and having all my best friends right there at the inn, I loved running into people arriving, I loved putting on my dress and feeling like a princess. The ceremony was perfect, I loved having my cousin singing there, I loved that we all laughed during the ceremony. Surprisingly, I loved the formal photo shoot of Bailey and I because it gave us time to hang out together and be super happy. The reception and dinner were perfect even though they went way too fast, and I was so happy to have so much family and friends there. And I had a great time hanging out with just friends during after hours until 4am.
Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed?

Jessica:
My mom sewed her beautiful necklace to my veil, and it was wonderful.
